ENG 099: Conversational American English | Princess Story Activity 8

Step 0 What’s up?



Step 1 What are you planning to do for your birthday this year?



Step 2 Do you have any English questions? From a book you read? From homework at school? From life?



Step 3 Please read the story Juan Bobo & the Cooking Pot. Was it a good story? Why? Please write 2 sentences.



Step 4 Now we are going to edit your story! What does “edit” mean? Start by reading aloud your whole story.



Step 5 How can you make your story better? Tell your teacher what changes to make and he will do the typing!



Step 6 If you have extra time, please read some stories from The Tiny Story Book.

Step 0 What’s up?



Step 1 What was the most fun thing you did last week?



Step 2 Do you have any English questions? From a book you read? From homework at school? From life?



Step 3 What is a dictionary? Why would you use Google dictionary? Please write 2 sentences.



Step 4 What have you written so far? Please read it quietly.



Step 5 How can you make your story better?



Step 6 Now, you are going to continue the conversation between your Princess and her Prince. What are they talking about?



Step 7 Please write the next line of dialogue (Remember, dialogue = sentences writers write when they want two characters to talk). Write 2 or 3 sentences of dialogue for the character.



Step 8 Please write the next line of dialogue use 3 sentences.



Step 9 Please write the next two lines of dialogue use 1 to 3 sentences each.

Step 10 If you have time in the lesson, please keep writing more lines of dialogue!

Step 0 What’s up?



Step 1 What was the most fun thing you did last week?



Step 2 Do you have any English questions? From a book you read? From homework at school? From life?



Step 3 What is a dictionary? Why would you use Google dictionary?



Step 4 What have you written so far? Please read it quietly.



Step 5 How can you make your story better?



Step 6 Now, you are going to write a conversation between your Princess and the Prince.



Step 7 How old are they?



Step 8 What do princesses and princes that age talk about? Please write 3 ideas.



Step 9 Pick one idea for your prince and princess to talk about. Now you will start writing the dialogue. Do you know what dialogue means?

Dialogue are the sentences writers write when they want two characters to talk. For example:

“Do you like the weather today, John?” Said Nancy.

“No, I hate when it rains.” Said John.

Those are 2 lines of dialogue.



Step 10 When you start a conversation with someone you usually begin with “Hi.” first, right? So, start the dialogue with the princess saying hello to the prince.



Step 11 Now write a line of dialogue where the princess



Step 12 Time for the princess to start talking about the idea you picked. Please write a line of dialogue with the Princess introducing her idea to the prince.



Step 13 What does the prince say to her? Please write his response.



Step 14 If you have time in the lesson, please keep writing more lines of dialogue!
